Bahubali - a perfect treat

Returning back to the blog,  after a long time.
I am not a critic, I am an admirer. Instead of trying to find the defects in the work, I prefer admiring the work and effort put by the team. They undoubtedly did something phenomenal.

A story of a heir getting back his kingdom from his uncle, who killed his father, can't be better told than this.

I couldn't resist writing the review for this movie. I saw the trailer and liked it, it had a new essence and new kind of scenes. I was excited to watch it. But frankly at first, I didn't had very high hopes for it. 3rd day from release of Bahubali-the beginning, I got the chance to watch it.

But after coming out from the theater, I was totally astonished to see something like that. Amazing start, breathtaking entry of the protagonist, amazing graphics, especially that mountain and waterfall, , movie kept me bound all the time, it  had emotional scenes, romantic scenes, till the interval. And after that, it took a sudden turn to the "Lord of the rings" style fights.

Prabhas created the character with his charming persona. In this first movie, from a romantic lover to an amateur soldier unlike his father, he created the character. His dialogue delivery(although I didn't understood what he was saying, without the subtitles) was amazing.

And so did Rana, he undoubtedly created a strong villain, each character had its own importance. His presence was more prominent in the second movie, in which he was more than a story villain. He created a strong end of the story, a tough soldier to be defeated. Until a story has a strong positive and negative ends, it won't be complete.
The raw muscle power of both actors was shown perfectly. At any moment, I didn't find it exaggerating.

Even if someone tell the story here, watching this movie would be an entirely different experience. The fight sequences were amazing, from riding chariots to sword fighting and fist fighting. Turn of events kept me bound all the time, but when it ended with a question, I admired the director so much for this mind blowing move to keep the audience spell bound for the next sequel.
After a long wait, came this 2nd part, the Bahubali-2 - The conclussion. Trailer was again amazing, each character looked so prominent. The queen, the king, the graphics, one can figure out the effort put by the team in this. Finally got the chance to watch it recently.

Hopes were high because of the first part. Movie started. The entry of the actor in the first few minutes was astonishing, followed by a song, which was at the perfect place. The fresh and different humor was seen after a long time.

Entry of the lead actress, was amazingly portrayed, a princess can't be better portrayed than that. I am unable to find a word to judiciously explain the essence of that scene. It can only be felt, can't be explained. The humor followed and the war sequence was amazing. The bow and arrow war was a nice part, action and surprise blended so well.
The pride of a princess, a queen, a heir to throne, were visible during the scenes. Some scenes were emotional, while some were hilarious. Music complemented the scenes so well. The final war scenes and the final fist fight were like never seen before. They were all so fresh and one cannot compare it with any other movie in the past. The story telling technique of the director was inspiring.

As I movie ended, I was both amazed and disappointed. Amazed by the piece of art created, and disappointed, not because of the movie, but because it ended. I could watch something like this for 3 more hours.
Graphics effect simply mind blowing, the majestic grandeur of the kingdom, the characters, everything was simply superb. I don't think, anything in this movie could be done any better.
After few days, I read few more critic reviews, who were disappointed by this, some trying to find smallest mistakes in the movies, some comparing it with Hollywood, but I guess it's their work, they get paid to do that. I also saw the people from US reviewing it, some of their reactions were hilarious, surprised and in between,"Oh my god" . In one review of a famous Youtuber and blogger, she was saying "My god" after every 2 seconds.
But Mr. Director you have heartiest regards of millions of people like me, for such a great work. Prabhas, Rana and each character of the movie created a history. This movie broke several records, and made a special place in cinema. It will be an inspiring work for budding people. Each character left a strong impact on the audience.
I guess to describe each of the character I would need a separate post. So, I will try to keep it short.

The character of Amarendra Bahubali was portrayed as a perfect son, a perfect husband, a perfect soldier and a righteous king. The blend of righteousness in the story was perfectly entangled with the politics of a vast kingdom. The queen 'DevSena', bold princess, her eyes and expressions speaks more than her actions. The captain of the army, 'Kattappa', had his moments where one can admire his performance skills. The emperor showed his presence well, attracting the attention by his display of raw power in scenes like fighting the bull and fist fighting. The royal queen had the strongest role.

This movie is on my top 'must watch' list, highly recommended, along with movies like Inception, Interstellar, Passengers. Looking forward to see more work from S. S. Rajamouli.

Can you do, What You want to do ?

Can you do, What You want to do ?
 Part -1

A young boy thinking while sitting near the window. Flashes of memory were sweeping before his eyes, his mind all occupied and flooded with the never ending thoughts, engulfing his perception of reality.
Rohan, a prodigy who was born during the time of great sorrow, when his parents were not able to provide food on the table and his younger brother was left alone to cry due to hunger. He survived the era, but instead of putting hard feelings in him, the circumstances made him more humble and insightful. He understood the reality of the world and the secrets of happiness.
One day when he questioned his plight, he asked himself, 'Is this life?'. That question haunted him for day and night. He promised himself that he will become strong to change things around him and will find the answer to that question.
At the age of 10, he got his hands on the withered spiritual book, while he was trying to find something in pile of papers and old books. He started reading, and kept on reading continuously for 3 days without sleeping, locked himself in a room. It filled him with a strange calmness, but there was always something that kept on bothering him, like a splinter in his head. He used to think while he was alone, walking down the streets. His perception changed. The way he used to look at other people changed drastically. He realized that if everybody will do their duty properly, and without any expectation, this world will surely be a better place.
During his early days of school, it was his teacher, Ishan, who first acknowledged his intelligence, and forged the raw stone into a shape. He blessed the child with his guidance and believed in him, motivated him and finally made him an independent person. Life sent many teachers to him to guide him and refine his being. With all the guidance life gave him, he grew up, but still that old childhood memories, that book were still with him. He still used to think about all that, but life changed. At 20, his responsibilities increased, his duties increased, things really changed or is it just all inside his brain? He managed things well. Helping his parents and taking care of everybody around him were the things which gave him little happiness. Those time of sorrows were now gone, but still something was missing.
One fine day, Rohan was sitting in his garden, and talking to a small sapling that was growing in the small vase, struggling just like him to grow up, but unlike him, it was getting adequate sunlight and nourishment. Rohan slowly whispered, "I used to look up in the sky and see those clouds floating without any worries. The light breeze and those grayish cloud used to clear up my doubts, and my mind. But you see, the weather has changed, now no clouds just scorching heat and strong winds, which will burn both you and me, but don't worry I will take care of you." He sighed and looked up again to the sky, a big yellow ball of fire glistening all over, mocking over the green meadows and challenging everybody to survive in such an adverse conditions. He slowly got up and went to his bedroom. The room was dark and full of cigarette smoke, but that was more like a scent to Rohan. Last time he cleaned his room was 3 months back when his friends visited him. This space was enough for him and his thoughts. Most of the time, it was all together the same question,"Is this life?" With his heavy mind, those heavy footsteps approached towards the untidy bed, with dirty bed sheets and a pillow on the leg side of the bed. He threw himself on the bed, and his mind began to wander around as always.
"Can I do, what I want to do?".
