Extinction

"system self destruction begins "
And the countdown began.
It was 19July 2020.
The day when the 'catastrophe' was finally shutdown forever.
A figure emerges from the shadows as the system continues beeping sluggishly and the dark room lit by dim Reflections marked his prominent presence. A deep sigh ! He looked at the photo frame hanging on the damp wall to his side, bent a little to pick up a bag lying in the corner but stopped, gave a thought and left it where it was. It was the bag of burdens which he didn't want to carry. He was not tired , he was not timid, he was just at peace. He left silently and walked down the silent road, the civilized society is sleeping, only sounds filling that calming silence were of fluttering leaves nearby, some bird chirping, maybe some nocturnal predator. He said to himself,"I will return, I have to,". I know he will return but only when he is needed. That was the last time, I saw him since then.

It all started at the same date , 10 years back.
